In the aftermath of the escape from Fox River State Penitentiary, Sara helps Michael and his fellow escapees evade capture. However, her involvement with the group puts her at risk, and she becomes a target for the authorities. In the episode "Buried" (Season 2, Episode 5), Sara is shot by a SWAT team while trying to help Michael and his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell).
