The film picks up where its predecessor, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015), left off. Thomas (Dylan O'Brien), a young protagonist, and his friends are on a mission to find the organization behind the maze and the experiments conducted on them. They aim to reach the Last City, the headquarters of the organization, to find a cure for the deadly disease, the Flare, which is spreading rapidly across the world.
