The movie tells the story of Conor O'Malley (Lewis MacDougall), a young boy who struggles to cope with his mother's terminal cancer. One night, a mysterious tree monster (voiced by Liam Neeson) appears to Conor, claiming to be a manifestation of the yew tree in his backyard.
