The movie takes place during the Greco-Persian Wars, 10 years after the events of the first film. King Leonidas (Sullivan Stapleton) is dead, and the Spartans are preparing to face a massive Persian army led by Prince Artaxerxes (Callan Mulvey) and the cunning naval commander Themistocles (Sutherland).
